EXCITING NEWS!
I am beyond excited to share that I have been chosen to present this work at the 7th International Fascia Research Congress in New Orleans this August! It’s truly an honor.
When we think about movement and flexibility, we often focus on our muscles, bones, and joints. But there’s another crucial system we don’t think much about playing a powerful role in our overall flexibility, movement and health—it’s our fascia. Often described as the body’s web of connective tissue, fascia (often referred to as myofascia) is deeply connected with our nervous system, and the more we understand about this connection, the more we can begin to unlock new possibilities of healing and performance. Did you know the fascial system is also highly innervated and rich with blood vessels, lymphatics, and hormonal and neurotransmitter receptors. These connections likely allow the fascia to receive and process information on whole body health. I am a strong believer that our fascial system plays a part in so much more of our health than we yet realize. Thanks to scientists who are (and have been) diving into the study of fascia, we can look forward to learning more of the secrets our fascial systems hold.
